Good effort! Nice to see things being done properly! :thumbleft:

As long as your cooling system is in good order, I honestly don't see the need. Mine has never gone above 116 degrees, and that was blasting down Bruntingthorpe runway endlessly at 143 mph! I've changed my rad, heater matrix, water pump and stat, and stock oil cooler/heat exchanger though, so I know mine is healthy. Putting an oil cooler in place may just mask a problem, so I'd suggest ensuring your cooling system is in tip top condition first. :thumbleft:

Not much room on the bulkhead as it as. Why clutter it up even more?......

Get a members gallery going now, warts and all! It'll give you a good history of how your car has come along. Don't be embarrassed by it, have a look at page 1 on my gallery!!!! It won't be looked down on, folk aren't like that on here. We're happy that you're saving another car rather than it going to the big scrapyard in the sky. Gives others a little motivations sometimes too, to start getting theirs on the up when they see others making good progress. :thumbleft:

I've not seen the vid but did mine like others have mentioned. I managed to get one off really easily and sold it on as it was in pretty good order. The other bent like buggery so had to bin it. I did them both with the windows wound down Rob. Neither side clears the window completely of mist when I wind them down in the morning, but does help a little.

So it does, thanks Ian! :bonk:

What colour are they Lee?

The carb cleaner rarely works in my experience on the isv. Worth getting it checked on VCDS if you can. Thats a strange one with the temp then. I can't see how adding antifreeze to the system would do anything like that tbh, its probably just coincidence. The fans should be kicking in at around 98 degrees iirc, and they're pretty affective in bringing temp back down to around 90 where it should be. Unless you've got a bit of an airlock which is causing it to go higher, so maybe try bleeding the system.
-
Sounds like separate issues, with the idle problem likely to be the Isv, and the temp problem likely thermostat. If temp goes up when stationary, then drops down to around 70-80 when travelling at speed it's most likely thermostat.

I so need a ride in a VRT. I've never had the opportunity and I'd love to see what they're like. I'm not a million miles from "finishing what I set out to do in mine, but this may lead to a new plan........ Hopefully. -

I don't think all were fitted with them for some reason Ian. I remember Goldie mentioning he'd picked one up as his didn't have one.

Do VW have an embargo on talking about the Corrado

Anyone got a link to the page, I'm not very good with the social media mumbo jumbo and can't find it on Facebook..... -

Put a Corrado appreciation post on there and see how many likes you get chuggs, write a little ditty how you think VW are treating it like tieback sheep and start a petition for more acknowledgement of such a fine car, and how they should start reproducing some obsolete parts! :thumbleft: -
I found my pickup cracked after the PO had run stupidly low. Although I had no pressure issue, I'd definitely recommend inspection of it.
-
Me too. N/S outer boot is a little oversized so leaks out a little but it's manageable, other than that they're perfect temporarily. The O/S doesn't have the girth of the original so I'd be a tad gentle, but worth it short term until you get your original sorted which is my intention Matt.

Ah, sorry. Misread your original post. -

I had a hairline Crack on the crimped part of my fuel filter. I left the lines alone at the time as they were fine. Pretty sure filters are still available from VW though at a reasonable price mate. -
What are the Most Desirable Corrado Colours
seanl82 replied to Madjackal's topic in General Car Chat
I've got to admit, I'm not a huge fan of mystic blue and don't see why so many like it so much. I think aqua blue is a nicer colour tbh. I think the greens look great, and although I'm not drawn to the flat colours in pictures, they look fantastic in the metal. It really is an all colours car as Jim says. :thumbleft: -
Well, still using it daily which is taking the enjoyment out of driving it a bit, although noticing the tyres were at 46 psi so letting 10 out of each certainly improved the drive! She's plodding along like a trooper though and taking everything that's been thrown at her without so much as a hiccup so can't complain too much. Still getting the odd bits and pieces for the Underside refurb too. Thought I'd stumbled on a gem from veedubmachine having both front brake splash Shields but alas, a partial refund was issued today as the left side isn't available. Unsurprisingly it's this side which is virtually non existent on my car so some work to track down one of them required. New rear disks, pads, bearings, & abs rotors purchased too along with the RHS front splash Shields. Just need wishbones, bushes front & rear, hubs, stub axles, CVs, and nuts and bolts now and I'll be ready to go. Moving back down to Plymouth in August and we've been allocated our house now which has a garage, which is definitely a Brucey bonus! Oh, and fitted the bonnet pins and catch I got back from Ian (gloucesterox) which look amazing!

Changes depend on the insurer, AF are just the brokers I think. Again depends on insurer as to ncd. Some will accrue by mirroring your daily use vehicle, some will start from zero, some won't do it at all. Like all things insurance, it's an absolute lottery so check the small print.
-
Mine failed previously due to the light being off. From what I'd read previously, the lighting circuit forms an integral part of the system, so if it doesn't operate, the system won't work. It really depends on the tester, but up until about 3 years ago it wasn't a fail, just an advisory.

Do you not have key cover on your insurance? Worth a look.

Classic symptoms of a poorly MAF that mate.
