  1. i thought everyone washed their car in a layby so as not to get the drive dirty
  2. i have been thinking of getting rid of rear one as it looks a bet messy there, but i do use it quite a bit. i need to sort the fronts out as they are just crap at wiping. are the lupo ones the best to get?
  3. very nice mate, looks gleaming.... i kinda agree with your neighbour tho, the rims aren't my cuppa tea, but can see the appeal
  4. i've always got plates from http://www.gtgrafix.com and they always been spot on
  5. if you look in first pic, you can follow line of axle and then see the angle difference to the bar
  6. no they fit well, just that the bar is wonky, it wouldn't twist around on the axle mountings any further to get the bit of bar shown level, if that makes any sense
  7. i could be interested too, asked at VW and its about £470 something before VAT, and its on exchange, plus its not brand new its reconned
  8. as i washed it, not that it ever seems dirty  changed the red VR6 badge to a black one
  9. nice to see they use tyre shine there ^^^^^
  10. i remember that you have to have the postcode or some numbers referring to who made the plate, mine is just plain, standard font, nothing else
  11. is it me or do the headlights look too small/bad fitment? rest looks v tidy tho
  12. i'll keep this in here rather than make another thread got under car, it wasn't handbrake, i loosened said bolts off, and retightened with car on ground, sprayed some WD40 and creaking has gone. but checked out my ARB and not sure its sitting right, i remember when fitting it didn't seem to want to turn any more...see pics is this important? half tempted to take ARB off and sell as i can't tell the difference it made due to fitting everything at once
  13. good point i hadn't thought of that 8) will have a check of that
  14. 6hrs :! i had mine done twice by a garage, they were deffo kind on the labour charge then :!
  15. from ground to the roofline. also what are they standard? just been out measuring mine, you never know someone may build a really low bridge  anyway 48"
  16. but is it fatal? mine probably is worn, but still going fine, a bit noisy around 2.5k rpm, but that probably something else i don't see why someone would do all the head stuff and not the bottom end, i'm saving all mine for a complete rebuild or an engine transplant, seeing as it 150,000 miles theres no point doing 1 bit and not the rest imo
  17. i've jsut done ball joints on mine, but had new wishbones too so i could fit them off the car, i renewed all the nuts & bolts also etc they look quite simple to do on the car
  18. i've got the early style top mounts and they could only go in one way, i thought it was them at first but not sure it is what bolts on the rear is it, at the bottom?
  19. am sure you've seen my threads all over the forum, but all my bits are fitted to car and i now have a couple of strange noises 1. rear suspension is creaky, when you get out of car it creaks and when you stand there and push/pull up/down on car the rear creaks. I did a search and someone says that you should slacken rear bolts off and retighten them, can i do all that with car on the ground? 2. when turning off roads and onto driveways, the front steering makes a funny twanging/metalic sound, this is when wheels are at different levels due to ground/dropped kerb and your turning at same time?? sounds like the springs moving to me
  20. i may of missed this, but what engine is it having?
  21. apart from piece of mind has anyone noticed any difference to car after having them done?
  22. mine is on 152,000 and not had them done, not sure if they worn or not, i haven't inspected and don't know how. part of me thinks that if engine dies due to this chain malarky i'll look for a new engine, i can see me getting chains.tensioners done then bottom end going or something like that. so i think its be a waste of money at the moment
  23. will it be the power supply to stereo, not connected through ignition
  24. just playing with photoshop, i'm not too great, not sure it looks better like this tbh
