  1. Hey everyone, after a couple of years of not owning a rado im pretty sure i want another lol. I havent ruled out a 20vt one but i think ive got my heart set on a vr. This may be a bit long winded so bear with me  . At some point when funds allow i would like to go down the Fi route. werther it be a supercharger but im thinking along the the lines of a turbo. Im looking for a decent base car so i cant eventually get round to doing this. My Big question is and i know it depends how theyve been looked after etc etc but what sort of milage is to much. At what point would you say i would consider rebuilding the engine before you start playing with turbos etc. The rest of the car would be up to scratch as i would upgrade the brakes, suspension and everything else 1st. There are some low milage ones but it seems a shame to start to modify them as theyre nice and original. Long story short how suitable are the higher milage C's for going the Fi route?
  2. I used to have a bahn brenner lysholm on mine, i never got to experiment with smaller pulleys as i sold the car but i felt an improvement in the mid range with just the standard pulley compared to a stage 4 g60 and 68mm pulley. I also loved the noise but its not for everyone? As i understand it these are now obsolete you may be able to still pick one up but i would be concerned about aftersales support if they are no longer made. I think bahn brenner are in the process of developing another charger for the g60 and I think a british company called mad doggy syndicate do a bigger lysholm charger also for the g60. Like already mentioned bigger chargers can be made to fit and should offer some good gains but these arent just a bolt on affair.
  3. Oh you definately got the best of both worlds there, a corrado and living in oz. Id like to move there but il have to get another rado to take over with me 1st lol. Dream garage a corrado with a 32 motor in it and a 6.0l maloo or ford falcon ute lol
  4. they dont make that charger anymore for the g60, its discontinued. I used to have one on my old g60 rado. Im pretty sure bbm are in the process of making a new kit with a different bigger charger that should produce more power. Mite be worth holding out for that. Copied and pasted from their website: Some of your supercharger kits are no longer listed on your web site, are they discontinued or on back order status? We are in the process of tooling up our G60 kit for use with a new and larger 1.32L per revolution 400+ hp capable supercharger unit. Please contact us if you would like to pre-order and reserve you place on this first run. Other kits will be soon to follow. Please stay tuned. Thank you for your business and support.
  5. Does anybody know if bbm are releasing a new screw charger as i know the company that produces them for bahn brenner have stopped making that particular type. Can anybody shed any light as there were rumours that they were bringing out a new type. Found this on their website: http://www.bahnbrenner.com/vw_audi/prod ... harger_Kit it says 1.3l per rev where the old one was 0.87 and it says up to 400 bhp where as the old one was rated to 300. It also states that the pictures are of the discontinued 2087 charger. Looks interesting to me. Always fancied a supercharged 20v. 8)
  6. Saw a blue think it was a vr never checked though parked up on scarbrorough sea front last nite. Had a bit of a nosey round it. VERY NICE!
  7. it wouldnt be a corrado if there werent things up with it, im not sure what the problem with your car is mate, but going on what aide has said can i just say when i had my corrado i used to have a mk 3 golf gti as a daily. That used to cut out for no reason what so ever and wouldnt start for a few mins later which isnt much good to me when your in the fast lane of a dual carrigeway . I put that into the gargae about 6 times to try and get to the bottom of the problem. Went through coils dizzy's etc. The last straw before i was about to cut my losses and get shot i phoned this one vw specialist to try and get it booked in but would have had to wait two weeks to get it booked in which was no good as this thing was a death trap everytime it cut out. The bloke just happened to mention though have you tried changing the ecu control relay? obviously i hadnt. Ordered one from vw, it cost me a tenner and i fitted it myself low and behold it fixed my problem. Nigh on 500 quid in garage bills and it turned out to be a 10 quid relay. Hope this helps
  8. Mine had the ones off a seat on they fit on the calliper and will mate up to your brake pipe. Badger 5 sell them for about 25 quid each and as far as im aware.
  9. and the instant throttle response lol
  10. As far as I know they have to have something to get rid of boost when it isn't being used. I.E driving the car hard and then changing gear. Could be wrong but sure it will need some sort of recirc or dv
  11. You'll be lucky mate! Carpoid had his shipped over there as they were never sold in Oz, his is probably one of VERY few out there (maybe the only one?) Lol, yeah i know they werent sold out there but thought I might get lucky. Ah well will just have to take one over if i decide to stay. Bit mad how america etc got quite few but not the eastern side of the world.
  12. I hope to see a few in o.z. I fly out to perth on the 19th of sept. Would be cool to see a few kicking around.
  13. The top oil port is the oil feed which goes to the side of your head as per the orignal oil feed. The two on the bottom are oil returns. One return goes to where the originnal return goes to. The other one when you remove the tail bracket on the g60 you get a plate with a tapered fitting that bolts to the block, the other return then fastens on to this. Sorry have no pics but when you start taking it to bits all will be more clear.
  14. Does the car tick over ok. As I had a similar problem with a boost leak which caused a whistle. But when warm my idle speed would fluctuate. It turned out that the idle screw had come out of the throttle body and the boost was escaping from there.
  15. check this out mate and see which one works for ya. Im hopeless with computers lol. viewtopic.php?f=24&t=65883
  16. Hi phil would have thought u'l have seen the car. Think you mentioned that you saw it at york on the phat tour. It was the green g60 with the loud whine lol.
  17. Nice to see you found your way here mate. Theres lots of good advice and help on here. You know if you get bored of the power then source some red top injectors and chip suited for a 18psi lysholm pulley from either SNS tuning or Gwerks. Then fit that charger pulley that came with the car and it should turn it into a bit of a handful . Just limit your revs to around 6000 as the charger will be spinning at around 3 times that. Missing it already :(
  18. Hi mate, what sort of pipe work are you using for your inetrcooler? I used humped hoses on mine that lets the pipe work move, apperantly if the pipework is rigid it can cause the charger to twist and sieze!
  19. What i did with mine was screw the screw into the pin, then clamp the screw in a vice and gently tap the door handle away from the screw which left me with the pin connected to the screw in the vice and the doorhandle in my hand
  20. Try replacing the switch. I tried the one out of my mk 2 golf and they worked again so the switch was to blame as the sma ething happened to me. Once you proved the switch you can go from there, I think this is a notorious fault with them. Does it have an uprated wiring loom?
  21. Hi mate, do you have the boost return deleted? Ive got mine deleted as im running a bbm screw charger and mine does this. I think its just the transisition when on boost from the flap being partly closed to fully closed. So in effect the boost is escaping until the boost return flap is fully shut. I dont have any boost leaks either
  22. My mate got one for his g40 and there are apperantly a few fitment issues with it.
  23. I know mate, if I could afford to keep it belive me I would. Its one or the other tho im afraid.
  24. Well it looks like its going up for sale :( My next question lol. The bits of bodywork that require attention, im debating werther to get them done which would mean the car would command abit higher premium or do I leave the bits that need doing and let them reflect in the price. I am so unsure as I have no idea what to advertise it for. @ carpoid. I'd love to take it with me mate but Id find it even harder to part with it then lol. Plus taking it with me would mean id need a serious job where as im treating it as a work holiday for the time being.
  25. Its not a forsale add as im not sure yet. An oppertunity has arose to go live in Australia for a bit. Id love to go but would mean getting rid of my g60 c. :( As of late corrado prices aint been great. To be honest the cars worth more in bits as im sure u all know thats usually the case lol. The thing is it would kill me to break as I love the car. Im just gonna go over the spec of the car and please offer your advise on what you think its worth. Il be as honest about the car as possible I know some pics would help but its raining and all cars look gorgeous wet . The car is a 92 late spec G60 with abs. Its done 120,000 miles. There is a box full of receipts thats bigger than my college folder  Il stop boring yas and tell you a bit about the car. Its got a bahn brenner screwcharger kit on it thats done around 2500 miles, magnex stainless exhaust and its been decatted, a golf g60 front mounted intercooler, shcrick camshaft, sns stage 5 chip. It has a solid front engine mount and some Gwerks uprated rear and G box mount the last two have done the same milage as the charger. Whilst these were fitted I also fitted a brand new vw oil pump a genuine vw cambelt and genuine vw rear wheel bearings. Its had a brand new water pump fitted which has also done 2500 mile and a G werks slimline fan. Ive also got an 18psi pulley for the charger but wasn't going to fit these until I bought some red top injectors, oil cooler and a chip for it. The car has ibiza cupra r brembos which have done around 4000 miles and it also has koni fully adjustable coilovers on it and powerflex bushes. Wheels wise it has 16 inch speedline comp 2s on it. The car has full leather interior and ive just fitted some leather porsche gt3 replica bucket seats and 3 point TRS harnesses, although i do still have the original front seats. It does have an uprated stereo in it, alothough i didn't fit this. From memory it has focal fronts, infinity rears and an infinity basscube. Body work wise it has a little dent in the back where the vw badge is. There is some rust round the handle on the drivers door a few parking dings and some stonechips to the front. It has also started to scratch the left hand side off the sunroff a little bit.My next plan was to get the full car painted inside and out but this has come up instead. Ive been as honest as possible but it is a reall nice car and always gets attention no matter where it goes. Il get some pics up asap. There were some of it from the demon vw big fat tour but I cant get on to put the links up from the demon webstie. I know a few people on this forum have owned this car before me also, It was jims old G60. Any opinion would be great. Sorry to bore you and thanks for your time.
