  1. It's not about beating GTR's though clumpy, it's about the experience of driving around in an old car with a lot of power in it. Similar to what you do with your Corrado really, only he has spent a LOT more money on a LOT older car with a LOT more power from the engine. I know it's a Volvo, but that's the appeal of the car to him, lots of people would ask why we as a forum community spend the time and money we do when on paper it's an old, unloved (by VW group as a whole) and FWD car.
  2. It does have a JZE lump in it though like a huge chunk of modified Jap stuff.
  3. Fastest car in GB according to the accurate newspaper that is the Daily Mail. Pinch of salt and all that. Cool car though and I'd have one!
  4. I'll send him a PM and point him in the direction of this thread. I'll be clear here that I'm not accusing anybody of anything here, but if no donation has been passed on, I hope it's a simple mistake...
  5. I know they are quite a bit heavier than the 12v items. Only those with 02M boxes will have an idea. Why would you like to know?
  6. I'm not particularly fussed about my status Andi and I do trust that Mr lobitos passed the money on, I was just mentioning how my transaction happened. The transaction happened in mid July and it was for 2 sets of tyres. Thanks :-)
  7. All good here on 2 different devices.
  8. Mr Lobitos charged me the donation and then passed the monies on on my behalf. I assume anyway?
  9. Well I'm back from my travels for now. Nothing else exciting going on with the car although I have racked up nearly 2400 miles in the nearly 6 months I've had it back on the road. 98% of them problem free!
  10. I was only looking earlier for some of these. How's that for luck! I'm in for when this comes around.
  11. I think the whole change is a breath of fresh air, just with a few problems to get straight. Don't get me wrong, there are bits of it I certainly don't agree with but then I pay the same tax and national insurance as a smoker when I'm statistically less likely to use the NHS, but that's a discussion for another day. No system is ever fair all the time. If and when tax is split into 365 days as apposed to 12 (unequal length) month periods then things will improve for the better. But we all know how fast big government moves so let's just be glad that some progress has been made.
  12. Why do you recommend the 135te Kev? I've been looking into learning myself and most places I read and people I've spoken to have recommended the 151TE model. Would be good to have feedback on what others have experienced.
  13. He's right! The registered keeper of the vehicle has to apply for tax when they buy the car and claim what ever is left when they sell the car.
  14. From memory, I think it's under £200 for a mk2 carpet for a newton Commercials product. Even if the Corrado became circa £250, I'd still be interested.
  15. Nothing any mod can realistically do here. The guy is a let down, true he owes money but at the end of the day nobody on here has any special powers of law over him. I'm sure those who are serious about getting their cash back will find methods. The rest will chalk it up as experience and avoid any future deals go with the bloke. It's just such a crying shame that somebody who had the kind of reputation that he had, went sour. There may be more to this story than meets the eye, but the facts in this thread don't paint a particularly pretty picture. And on that note, I'll search elsewhere for the parts I wanted.
  16. I asked this before, It's been done by Newton Commercials who make great products based on what I've seen of their products.
  17. Seeing as you're an accountant Mic, I trust you'd know your way around figures! Personally, I find if people don't like the government, they moan and the low turn out on voting day proves that people aren't all prepared to do anything about it. I'd agree with compulsory voting, be it postal vote or in person. That way, at least you have a point when you moan about things.
  18. Indeed Kev, there was a mk3 Anni 20, a mk4 Anni 25, your mk5 Ed30 and the mk6(5.5) ed35.
  19. It's been counted against me in the past as having a claim, the premium never increased though.
  20. That is a strange sound! Sounds good otherwise.
  21. This car keeps reappearing on these pages! Good Base, hopefully you keep it longer than other owners have! I'm from Coningsby myself so may see you out and about!
  22. I'd imagine there are far too many sensors from all sorts of systems that need to be included for it to work well! Always loved the ed30s, really fancy the 35 myself!
  23. Anywhere nice or just the high seas?
  24. They are ptfe lined so no lube required.
