Kev, I thought you swore by DS2500s ? How do you find the VAG ones compared to them ? Obviously price is a major difference.
-
I had a look, but it's way over-priced. £1000 maybe would be more reasonable. Would be nice to have though.
-
Well, that's what they cost, I think it's actually not a bad price, when you consider that individual VDO gauges will set you back £30-40 without the mounting. I don't think China is an option, as they don't have Corrado specific parts, only parts that are also found in other VW's that they still make over there.

If it's for a pre facelift car you're out of luck - for a VR they are still available new from ARZ tuning, that's where I got mine, and ebay as well - just make sure you get the correct one - they come for RHS and LHS.

Welcome to the forum - good to see another member from Ireland - I'm in Dublin, and you're welcome to drop by for a chat or a dig out with tools etc. any time.

Eibach springs are firmer than the H&Rs - I run H&R springs with a 30mm drop with Bilstein B6 dampers on OEM Speedlines with 205/50/15 tyres as per spec and there is very little difference to standard ride quality, except on very bad surfaces. Wheel size and tyres are the biggest factor in imho - go back to 15s and you will notice a real difference.

Are there any branches in Northern Ireland or is it just mainland UK ?

Payment sent today - thanks -
Yeah - I was going to say that ABS cars have an orange light on the dash that won't go off!
-
IOk - I'll see if I need to back them off a bit - when I fitted them I did the usual checks to see if I could move the washer with a screw driver etc.

I have a press - so the bearings were put in properly - doesn't go when turning - and you can't hear it at low speed. They are VAG bearings - wouldn't use any other ones.
-
The C has developed a slight speed dependent whine - not too loud but definitely noticeable at higher speeds. Things that were changed recently were rear wheel bearings, new pads and discs all round and gearbox oil - any ideas if these could be the cause ? The bearings are tight and the gearbox was filled with 2L of MT-90.

I did this last week - http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?55703-fendervg-s-VR6-a.k.a-quot-The-Beast-quot-NCT-passed!/page3 -might be useful.
-
Hmmmm. Didn't realise you had aircon - in that case the front and rad will have to come off - will be easier in the long run.
-
You can but the seals on their own - not expensive. You can also do it with the hoses on if you can get the car high up with access from below.
-
That's mine - yeah, looks a bit off, but keeps the car clean. I might take them off when I get the H&R 30mm springs fitted.
-
I have some on mine but think they are aftermarket - never had any complaints. Have a look in my member's gallery thread

What about the Quantum Platinum 5w40 ? http://www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk/flash/quantum/quantumOils.html
-
Cheers Mike - yep - drop the hint.

Apparently you can use Mk3 matrix as well, which is a better part. I wouldn't touch the GSF one, not worth the bother for all the labour involved if it fails, and I had two go wrong on my old Golf GTI.

Problem is that the m/c sits at an angle that is not compatible with newer ones - there's a good discussion in this thread http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?52214-288s-and-master-cylinder-size
-
Yeah, 0-60 in seven seconds, 60-0 in ten, lol:
-
you'll never get "modern" braking - you'll always have to use more effort, but it will stop in the end. A good flush will help, and new pads. I think it's to do with the master cylinder, servo size and the angle of the pedal to the m/c. Power steering is "assist" - and as a sports car it should be slightly heavy.

Really interested in getting hold of one of these - complete with all ancillaries and fittings - I know they are as rare as rocking horse poo, but think it's the perfect OEM mod. Would prefer not to go the Schrick route because of access to the spark plugs.
