  1. These Mk1 golfs manufactured in till 2009 in the South African factory have always intrigued me. When the MK2 was released the VW factory decided it was too expensive to buy new tooling and carried on manufacturing the MK1 but changed the name to the MK1 Golf Citi- in the South African market . Really like the 1.8 citi R line which with a 1.8 - body kit and half leathers rare but made a more common 1.8 . I think it would be fun to import one - they are very common S. Africa and have modern interiors etc from factory. They have four headlights at the front etc and are basically a modern MK1. 5. They look good from where i'm sitting the line comes through spot on from the door . Help with nose heavy VR as well .
  6. I think we are nearly ready for another batch of window rollers wherever you are Mr Funkster ha !
  7. Have you asked the seller on here might still have some knocking about ? User name funkser. t Also mate the rattle is likely to be a broken clip on the bottom of the window- can be cured with some solvent grabber adhesive. .
  8. Mine are still on but have seen better days for sure !
  9. Absolutely not mate I was more wondering if any UK cars came with them - they also have a special seal under the door for dust region which is still available ( UK ones are na)- I think they came on Canadian cars . l Far too much water comes out my door drain hole when opening the car but my car is parked downhill - I really think its the outer door scrapers old with no tension anymore.
  10. Never knew these door frame seals existed- says they are for dusty regions and still available left and right for a whopping £180.00 each. I take it know one has got them on UK cars. No 21 on diagram https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/corrado/cor/1995-76/8/831-153000/ https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/en/dichtung-17d260.html
  11. What ever happened to this car with the VSR looked a great motor.
  12. Oh nice a Schrick is a good bonus on top of all the other work carried out. Not working on two is an easy fix just need to bend the contact a little on the round copper piece .
  13. Can reccomend this Germanic no nonsense amatuer mechainic that would put most professionals to shame. Rarely puts out a video but worth the wait. First. Second
  14. Sure chap I have a BLAUPUNKT FREIBURG SQM 26 owning a 91 model I think it was early mk2 19e - also the screen is orange and it is nice to have matching to dash so a Gamma 3 is on the cards.
  15. Mate over the moon with it to be honest and was happy to see all the cabling behind the stereo was in good order with original plugs. Fen have you ever seen this 3 cd changer for the USA market )Gamma 3 ) holy smoke not cheap sit down. 1.1K https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Gamma-3-CD-US-model-357-035-196/254213965274?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144 Would really like a Gamma 3 for my Mk2 now - love the Gamma ha !
  16. Very happy with the Gamma 4 radio that came on a USA Corrado and Europe- the plastic is the same as the dash and green illumination spot on = Great sound quality. Came on a B4 Passat in the UK and maybe other models- for some reason UK Corrado came with a Sony face off which I'm not really liking to be honest., Corrado 95 UK brochure.
  17. I don't think the corrado has shims from memory but on all other cars I've owned they had different size shims for a bit of play in drop.
  18. I've got a feeling its something small like the plug is not housed into the ecu fully. Fingers crossed.
  19. This was my concern with an aftermarket scuttle it may do more harm then good if not tested thoroughly to see water displacement ends up- cant see how it would direct it to the ecu but who knows ! Maybe there is a reason VW didn't make a complete scuttle tray for the Corrado alike that to a Mk2 golf, On my Mk2 golf the the ecu trim cover was missing and I had really bad issues starting up the car - Vince spotted it straight away and showed the plug connector was basically green ha - thankfully got an ecu trim cover second hand as they are obsolete and the ecu for KR are about only £30,00 second hand and always a few for sale on ebay- I think the VR ones are rather expensive second hand .
  20. They just like to see pictures of the odometer mileage - if you don't go over the mileage declared you have nothing to worry about- if you do then basically you can assume your car is not insured unless you call them and extend the mileage on the policy at an additional premium Another example is you say you leave your car in the garage- you left it on the drive it got stolen you might not be covered- from my experience and I was a broker back in the early 90s is that only areas of performance - age - experience - previous driving convictions- cars value- left on roadside overnight- only really make a big difference- always declare little bits worst case scenario as won't make much difference - on classics even modified doesn't really load the premium by that much in most instances.
  21. Fen to be fair an Insurance policy is a contract so if you don't brake the contract you should have no issues. Its up to the policy holder to read terms and conditions before going ahead to insure the policy covers their requirements. Obviously things might be a little different in Ireland.
  22. You do indeed - hardly makes a difference to your premium- I strongly advise Lancaster Insurance they insured my golf for 19K and also a Campaign off facebook at 35k with 91k on the clock- aid flux was my last insurer for the golf and they always try yo low ball your valuation after you have paid. You will need paperwork and evidence to help you achieve your valuation- also a few links of cars that have sold won't hurt
  23. Have a look if the windscreen has the original glass stamp - if ever changed the window fitter could of took the paint off using the wire then over the years the dreaded happens water getting into the body work and then the orange peril starts eating away. Run some water down the front sunroof channel and see if it exiting by the front wheel .
