So Sean would that be the red one I have in my shed ? 😉 We need this skilled corrado owner to make some of the galvanised rad supports also offered in alloy. http://testforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=883 From his profile his name is Rob from Durham and owned a red G60 and was making these in 2016 - his car reg was J375CAO - I wonder if his still about !
-
I think these rad supports are getting thin on the ground - the sooner an aftermarket one becomes available the better- the Mk2 golf you can but all the subframes and supports aftermarket - lets hope the Corrado follows one day and they rust to heel on the rad support- leaky coolant might not help them.
-
When you use them after the rechrome you will be very happy mate I can vouch for that.

From memory 180 .oo chap - its a fair bit of money but its almost like your headlight is new again- especially when you clean the lenses - everyone will have to do it eventually as i believe mots can fail on reflectors - my eyesight is very poor in low light so I jumped on it ha !
-
These are based in Birmingham- I have poor eyesight and after upgrading the loom and putting in the brightest OSram and still finding that my lights were candles I decided to use these. My concern with painting the old reflectors is that you could actually lift off the old chrome its not the best material to even touch to be honest it just disintegrates. Not sure if you have ever stripped a light before but if not you do not need touch the adjusters otherwise they will just crumble in your hand- you can unclip the reflector by pressing a tab inside the headlight . The adjusters are obsolete but you can buy some exspensive ones from phoenix engineering in the USA or some cheaper ones in the UK https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/798417086/vw-corrado-vr6-g60-16v-8v-3d-printed?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=headlight&ref=sr_gallery-1-11&col=1 You can post them to Brum if not local - you have to strip them just to the reflector and really check carefully there are no clips left on them otherwise they will get lost they are very easy to miss but I do have bad eyesight. https://www.dual-metallising.co.uk/lighting-reflectors/ The results- now I get cars dipping there beams at me telling me to dim my light even though they are not on high beam 😀

Prices have increased for the better which is great news for those spending money on renovating them - means your not completely out of pocket if you wanted to sell on in the future- if my garage does not pass planning I may seriously have to think about my mk2 golf 16V and Corrado because they are getting to point that they are to valuable to to sit on a driveway with no cover especially with obsolete parts endlessly inflating in price- my insurance is up for renewal in October and I will let you know goldfinger what Lancaster agreed chap . I think if you sold your car as well a valuation certificate in the advert is a good thing to display. Ive been doing a bit of a midlife refresh on the 997 and I can honestly say many of the parts are cheaper then the corrado and Porsche have a very good classics department - much better then VW even though they are owned by them ha ! The 997 is very well protected from the elements and has a full plastic tray under belly bar the engine- only catch is if the engine goes belly up- very important in them to warm them up to 90 before going over 2k revs.

Hey Docs not a bad estimate by me mate hey 😉 .
-
I read somewhere today that you use the left for right corrado and right for left off the beetle if that makes sense and no cutting.
-
Need to get her out now before winter arrives and have a good blast 👍
-
Congrats welcome to the Corrado community.

That will be Sukhi Ryatt car- its avery clean early G60 nugget - very nice clean original car- he lives in Leeds.
-
Not everyone sniffs petrol on their day off mate 😂 Looking forward to hearing her run best of luck 👍
-
How and when did you get your hands on them Cressa and what was the damage .
-
My fav recaro set for the Corrado is the same pattern at the MK2 Golf 16v optional recaro (not the ultra violet)- very nice and have never seen one in a Corrado as of yet.

I like a dog to be dog none of this pugaroodlepoodlefrenchbull. nonsense. ha !

Reckon 1K - caroline Weston was selling some on fb - I would price them at 1.2 k but let them go for 1K - I sold a set for £750 just wanted them out the way before my Airedale ate them for breakfast.
-
I suppose people think its a safe bet getting one from a dealer and think because the price is high it must be a great car- any classic car really better off buying direct from an enthusiast if you can.
-
There is a cream set for £750.00 mate on FB at the moment.
-
Im not sure mate the bodywork looks nice - but no evidence of chains or any major work - I reckon the seller probably did a part ex and ended up getting 7 - 7.5 for it - maybe even less.- he did well out the car hardly spent a penny and got their money back. If you can get a low miler with good body work you can't go wrong really as that is all some buyers look at unless they know the cars well !
-
Why did you sell it Shaun ? The dealer has now posted the pictures- from what I can see the last owner put a new fusebox in - leads and a sunroof motor - hardly a midlife overhaul - more like fixed a few faults. I would say going off your old registration plate Moth it will certainly leave a hole in their pockets if they pay that dealers asking price. I reckon they saw the Blackberry car that is up for auction 13k - 17k and valued it on that basis. Not knocking down the valuations but if your going to ask top money then I want to see paper work that is several K more then the car is been sold for in the last few years.

A member on here called Matt shared this info with me. Don't ever undersell your cars because the dealers may well think they are worth a lot more. Hi Keyo, Thought the forum should know about this one, but I'm not a subscriber at present so I can't start posts :/. Spotted this lovely blackberry up for sale earlier in the week... now sold... only to find it at a dealer today with an extra 4 or 5K on the price!! cheeky gits, I know that's their trade but come on buying and listing within a day or so exact same car on similar websites seems a bit scummy 😆 anyway didn't know where to put this and know youre pretty active on here so here you go 🙂 https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:TM_r3mN50GAJ:https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1266545+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202009173866216?onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&radius=1501&make=VOLKSWAGEN&sort=relevance&include-delivery-option=on&model=CORRADO&advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=la26hh&page=1

First stop - OE - Lemforder - febi - then see hopefully Topran is not the only choice left. The only good Topran part I got hold of was a seat tilt cable because it said Gemo on it so there are the odd exception .

Even if it didn't leave the factory with a red badge it is acceptable to put on a badge colour that suits the colour of the car- my car 1995 in black left factory with brushed silver but have a black corrado script badge and red front and rear VR6 because I liked the combo.

Thanks Dox I spoke to Vince this morning and he says 9 out of 10 times if the oil sensors have been changed and spade ends good etc - its the inner workings of the binnacle clocks getting old and been temperamental and told me that I would not need a pump - he did say though a 9a pump even though the shaft is thinner it works and is an upgrade and stronger. To be honest mine has only gone off twice in the last year so I'm not going to worry about it- although the oil pressure gauge idea might well lead me to a Votex console - just getting a bit tired of splashing out on these classics.
