  1. Oh yes that would be a good one to make for sure.
  2. What happened to the Schrick did you transfer it over to your pension fund.
  3. Looks like the car had a Schrick once as can see cut out in the bonnet .
  4. Im not sure mate it might actually be the same kit- I have seen it mentioned that some cars came from the factory with a BBS kit on special order- not sure if there is any truth to this. Would be a great project to get a standard low miler shell been tucked away in a grannies garage and then do an engine swap and fit the BBS kit. There is one for sale in Stoke has 9k on the windscreen but 15k on the website , not sure if its a BBS kit but looks good- bit pricey for my liking. https://www.signaturecarsstaffordshire.co.uk/used/volkswagen/golf-gti/-/aetv63639420/ Has what looks like some BBR RS as well or might be reps. Only looks like an 8vavler so they are asking silly money for it.
  5. Anyone else love these Mk2 with the bbs body kit and pinstripes.
  6. Your bodywork and paint looks good mate is it the original paint.
  7. I do not advice anyone to use scaffolding unless qualified. However if you wanted make your own stand you can buy some alloy ladder beams which are the shortest depth (height). You then build a frame under the car and jack it up to the top height onto the jack stands - then you jack up each corner of the beams one at a time to gain a height higher then the stands. You can also put puncheons on the beams and support the car in any position whilst car is in the air. Can also buy castor wheels which you can put under the uprights if you want to push the car about. I placed my tube on the on the floor pan as it was a car for breaking which gave me full access to the subframes and axel https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/173867754586?rt=nc&_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20160908110712%26meid%3D813fa65038884154bab8c340f97e30ab%26pid%3D100677%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D30%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D173867753899%26itm%3D173867754586%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2386202%26algv%3DDefaultOrganic
  8. Cool mate where did you get that lighter trim panel from that must be well hard to get hold of.
  9. Does that heater trim with the d=slot even exist mate or is the diagram showing an imaginary part lol- ABV with the Japan car might of had it?
  10. Think its a lefty mate Canadian car- the diagram off etka shows it fits into the heater control trim panel- do you have one of them heater slotted trims have never even seen one nate,.
  11. Cressa saw this tonight look where they have put the aircom max and norm- clever.
  12. Very impressive TD but I like to go over the top setting with the use of a bit of tube and fitting wink wink- also made a lifting rack out of tube and fitting and some caster wheels to remove the engine.. Black Magic has unfortunately devoured a rot box Aqua Blue to reach immortality the vampire - sorry another one gone but used as a donor because wanted spare of everything possible - car was purchased off a drive for little money. as it was far to gone. Bit of a bonus it has come with some rare BBs RA but in 7J not 6j which are very hard to come by. perfect for the mk2 . You need spare fogs - lights etc and many other things if your planning on long term ownership as its just getting harder to source.
  13. Anyone else getting ocd with the brake duct under trim hanging down. 😀
  14. Thanks very much Geri feel bad for the lad but his happy to pay market rate for parts and has also asked if you could recommend someone in the Belfast area or N, Ireland to fit the parts . - will pm his mobile number chap and if you have the time or want can you drop him a text chap. Cheers.
  15. Geri there is a guy in N. Ireland that had an attempted car theft on his car a couple of days back - they smashed three of his locks- smashed rear window - rear tailgate glass- his after some parts- his car is only on 78K on the clock and the insurance company are trying to pay him out (low balling rodents) 2.5 K and cat it- he did not get an agreed valuation unfortunately - said I might know someone who might be able to help him out with parts mate. . Chril L old car sold for 17.5 K last month or so - 2.5 k is a joke- guys make sure you have an agreed value dont let this happen to you.
  16. Sounds creepy all right - that's why my dog sleeps in the hallway as nothing creeping past him- the car thief's round here have actually killed a couple of police officers in the last few years- one even had the cheek when in mid arrest to steal the police car and run over the officer - honestly its a dangerous place out there these days - worst thing you can have on the drive is a new AMG-M3-RS audi= Range Rovers - even worse dogs getting stolen in the park taken out of the owners own hands and from houses . I know a trick leave a spare key that is the wrong key for the car with brand keyring on the side table- by the time they realise they cant work it out they will have probably been spooked.
  17. Have a Toad Ai660 + professional CTV + Airedale King Terrier which the British Army use and ex Police Dog - no issues yet - however my home city has certain gangs that cause huge numbers of theft as they are operating on a commercial basis - thankfully they seem to go for cars that they can replace panels on cat accident cars - wont be long in till they are clocking the old classics parts have more money in them because obsolete - fingers crossed my garage plans will pass soon as resubmitted.

    Sill repair panels

Any update on how good these sill repair panels are ? Thanks
  19. Have you actually checked VW classics to see if the rear of the clocks the brains are still available- I purchased a complete unit for my 95 VR6 a couple of years ago - do you know how to use etka ? Get your part number from the diagram and then check on this website. Here look on here - this would of been your cheapest route and you get all new. Bolt on bolt off yes it would change the mileage but thats better then clocks failing in the near future again Get one whilst you can but please check if it is available for your model as variations. Your cluster specialist will be able to change the mileage to match your existing to be fair or anyone with a bit of knowledge. https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/en/catalogsearch/result/?q=corrado+circuit&order=relevance&dir=desc
  20. Yep order some more connectors for an A 1 job - thanks
  21. Sure they are basically a cheap Mk1 - but they only weigh 800 KG which sounds fun to me . - I would swop out the horrible rear lights and the dash - also think an integrale rear boot spoiler would look ultra cool. but the body kit looks awesome on the R line IMO and is apparently the most powerful MK1 to come off the production line. The rear corner panel with the indent feature is actually to make the car stronger apparently.
  22. I wouldn't bother getting one unless it was an R line (100 made) as the body kit- seats and engine are cool - they use VW Motorsport 272 cams. Last one sold a year or two back for 6k in South Africa for a 1 in 100 car that it good money for the rarity - no dealt a great investment car and will really spin out MK1 owners ha ! I would change the back lights and possibly the dash- hardest thing would be getting hold of one and understanding the history and authenticity of the car purchased abroad- would have to put your trust in someone you never met. There is a corrado owner in S. Africa on FB page.
  23. Sure chap totally agree - they changed the interior in early 2000 s - I wonder if it would take an original MK1 dash. Have you seen one at a show mate in Ireland ? They only made 100 of the R line apparently and 150 of the 1.8 is . I think for 6 grand they are a great investment car and would spin people out at shows which would be hilarious. .
