    OIL LEAK

mariovr6, where are you getting the parts from? - if you ask VW for a filter for a corrado VR6 they should order the part number I gave you above, or you can just order by that number...
  2. Stealth do a head refurb, chains and clutch for about £1500 iirc...
  3. Welcome to the forum - Try using a jump lead to bridge it... If you do need one then new VR starters are about £65 from ECP so not too bad and I think they are fairly easy to get to underneath but get someone to help you to save dropping it on yer head!

    OIL LEAK

    mariovr6, just order this - 021 115 562 No worries Timo...
  5. Heated locks - LOL but good idea tho... The wires are just for the CL switches and these also activate full closure when held in the lock position...
  6. G60SC_Stoney, they are not on the website either but they have loads in my local one but it is a B&Q warehouse for which there are 2 in ipswich for some strange reason! EDIT - this is what I have, 145 pieces... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000C ... e&n=228013
  7. No it's not - It almost certainly means the fan thermoswitch is only working at stage 2

    Fuel smell

Mike, you should be able to get all the moulded pipes for about £50 from VW if you get a good discount, the one on the right of the rail to the pressure switch can be done with standard stuff but you need to but the good quality pipes (ribbed) so it will bend propery... I'd stick to VAG for the feed and return because of the shape. These pipes can weap very slightly and the vapour gets sucked straight into the cabin, i found my leak on the pressure switch one by pulling on the pipe with the engine running - fuel was pissing out then evaporating off the manifold. Sounds like you have a leak but try venting that CC hose into the airbox first, mine stank after the CC was removed and the pipe left like that...

    OIL LEAK

Thats wrong in this case, they are just different parts for different cars - the correct part number for a Corrado VR6 is 021 115 562 which is a box that contains the O ring seal and filter (021 115 561 - not available seperatly as the wrong part always gets supplied) I can't believe the amount of places that seem to order the wrong filters as there is only one listed for a C - there should be no prefix at the end of the part number!!!
  10. I can't believe that, VAG only sell G12+ which is pink and they know it supercedes G11 and G12 and can be mixed with both!! Change it again for G12+ (30% mix with water), make sure you have a BLUE cap on your expansion tank then change the black temp sender and the rad fan thermoswitch (this is probably what is wrong) I'd also either run the heat exchanger hoses into each other with a copper U bend or replace with 2 mk1 hoses (£15 from VW)
  11. Yep, just mark the position of them if they are set up right, new ones are a different size to do up that the old ones - you need 14 and 15mm spanners
  12. PCB - Printed Circuit Board
  13. Nope - just push down and pull...
  14. If its on before you even move then a sensor is down (open circuit or unplugged) Start by unplugging the fronts at the tops of the suspension turrets and measureing resistance then checking connections, if nothing found then you can try the same with the rears (plug in under rear seats) but VAGCOM is a quicker optiion...
  15. They used to come with the Koni kits and several people have said they prefer them to H&R's, especially on 4cyl models...
  16. Individually yes but they do a kit with loads in it for £20...
  17. I really like the one in John Mitchells car - any idea where it's from Andy?
  18. I've not had time to read all this but are you sure one of the wheel bolts hasn't been swapped for a longer one or mixed up and rubbing on the back of the abs rotor...?
  19. Yep it is US spec with the valve block and MC in one that need the ignition on, our ABS systems should really only be pressure bled, any air goes into the pump and vagcom is needed to sort out with over 200 presses of the brake pedal!
  20. GPC were doing these for £62 for both sides at Inters...
  21. I've got a cordless one and it's pretty good, just have to remember to charge it after use... the fact that it's cordless is handy for anything car related... I think they now do a new Lithium-ion one...
