AFIK the only difference is if the vehicle is an early or late model as they have slightly different strut top caps, bushes & bearings if i remember right i believe it is possible to fit coilovers from a VR onto a 16v by using the late caps etc - at least i hope that is correct as ive some in the loft ready for when the valver needs it but havent yet got the late caps etc

good question cressa i too will be doing similar & was thinking as per sean's suggestion for the roof rails but am unsure on the door handles previous stuff ive used on them always fades very quickly, worth a look at stuarts link methinks FYI i have been using that gummi stuff that has been mentioned on here on my window rubbers & it seems to be bringing them back nicely so far cressa - are you replacing he door handle gaskets or did you manage to remove the handle without breaking them?
-
hi chris - sorry i wasnt on here yesterday yes i got them from my local motor factor, few £s each
-
excellent, that is very reassuring sean thank you

hi all i am starting on the road to fresh paint & looking at a window out job as im sure many of you know this is a headache due to replacement parts being discontinued i am hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction or offer their experience front screen is ok as Heritage do a kit but rear window rubbers are nowhere - any ideas anyone? ive seen vintage rubbers in the US but am unsure rear windows - ive been told that the rubber is fixed on the glass but only 1 side is available - is there a way to get them out undamaged so as can reuse? mine are not too shabby also, does anyone have any experience of if the front & rear screens themselves can be taken out without damaging them? any other thoughts are welcome thanks

-
only just seen this fella - hold on ive a pic of the ones i took out of my loom when i had a failed one the link you posted doesnt look right as they look to be a dual fitting - whereas the ones i took out were single (if that makes sense) back in a tic with a pic....

very true Dr i was of the thought that the VR tappet noise is due to the nature of them being hydraulic tappets which require the lubricant to get round them after start up, so they quieten after a short time but never go silent

bloomin gremlins - PITA as can end up chasing things around - good luck with it the VR had a gremlin recently too & she tried to put the fear in me by looking like over pressurising but fortunately, i say that with gritted teeth lol, it was the matrix that let go so ive 2 dash's to take out this summer im loving my 4 pots m8!! i dont travel on many highways lately so gave them a test yesterday at highway speeds, my word they slow you damn quickly - id bet you have eye ball marks on your windscreen with the AP's ;) PMSL
-
damn it ive just brought new brakes mic!! ;) lol seriously though, is it being troublesome? :(
-
already tried that m8 & tried them on 2 browsers

links dont work

also Graphite, any plans to put a hellcat in anything? lol
-
holy cow on a stick Graphite! those pics are drool worthy is that an LS7 sat in the engine cradle? i am pretty good on identifying cars from odd angles & just their tail lights etc but i dont recognise T70 GDS next to the cobra's, what is it pls? oh & in similar vein to Fla - do you need a good IT techy there? lol EDIT - oooo google has revealed my mistake, they are not cobra's, they are GD's - WOW!!!

its not star wars as all of mine was stolen when i was little but i do have a complete & boxed generation 1 Transformers JetFire in the loft it is one thing i am glad i kept from childhood - unfortunately, but not at the time as i brought my first car with the proceedings, i sold the stack of marvel comics i had which included a first print No1 edition of The Hulk (where he was grey not green) & Journey into mystery No83 which was the first appearance of Thor if only i had them now :( lol
-
sweet that is good news very much appreciated as it implies i will only have to very slightly stretch the Kamei front skirt to get the full kit on the VR
-
Chris Gaskells old Storm on Autotrader - 17K!!
g0ldf1ng3r replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
hmm i wonder what the actual selling price was - great to see it has sold now :) -
IIRC the gf's old storm used to play up with starting when warm & i believe one of the things she had changed to fix it was the crank sensor i cant recall what else was tried though sorry
-
that is good info thanks yandards someone here helped me with bumper measurements a while ago as i was investigating if the Kamei front splitter i have in the loft, which is designed for early models, would fit the late bumper of my VR - if the difference is only about 10mm there might be enough flex to accomodate do you know if the late rear arches have a similar flare to the front? the Kamei kit is skirts all round & sides are no issue

another issue with the bullet in space could be that the aliens wouldnt let you fire it - as they theoretically did with the US when they tried to detonate a nuke in space/on the moon ;) LOL http://www.collective-evolution.com/2017/05/17/the-united-states-tried-to-detonate-a-nuclear-weapon-on-the-moon-somebody-responded-when-we-did/

ooo good point about gravity Dr :)

what an intersting post Veedubbed! sound in space - hmm space being a vaccuum, does sound traverse across a vaccuum? i know that movie depictions of explosions in space are fiction as there is no oxygen in space to ignite any flames but i wonder if the vibrations from said explosion would travel i would guess at yes as at a molecular level absolutely everything is & has a vibration, it is the frequency of said vibrations that makes them work in the way they do, thus by proxy sound waves would travel a quick google & it seems this is an even more interesting question as space itself does not contain molecules, thus a sound wave can not be heard as it doesnt have any molecules to vibrate & cause our ears to hear them. however, it says NASA has proven that sound can travel through space in electromagnetic vibrations, thus negating the need for air molecules to vibrate as we do on earth for our ears to hear it, which can them be transferred into sounds we could hear as for the bullet/gun, again as space is a vacuum & if newtons laws applied (every action has an equal & opposite reaction) the bullet & gun would both, upon firing, accelerate in opposite directions & as there is nothing in space to push back against said acceleration they would both travel at their terminal velocity, which i think would be equal to their acceleration speeds, forever or until they hit an object which absorbed their energy

nice mission speaker geeba :)
