  1. Thanks all! Off to watch the football and have a few beers in a bit. Hopefully watch the boxing a bit later, provided I can see by that point!...........
  2. I asked this question just last week in another thread. He's driving a small hybrid of some sort, cant remember what exactly though. Think he's had enough of blowing money on old cars for a little while!
  3. What width wheels Hasan? 195 is used but that gives quite a lot of stretch on say 7.5" wheels. Mine are this side and I run 205 which gives a little stretch and no issues with rubbing on an offset of 35.
  4. The tips pop off, so even if its the green one you can re-use your old tip.
  5. Yeah mine comes on when stopped in traffic for a few minutes. Perfectly normal for that to happen when the engine is up to temp so nothing to worry about. Do you have any history of the water pump being replaced? The impellers are prone to breaking off is all, and they're pretty cheap and easy to replace so I'd say its worth it.
  6. Is that brand new Graham? If so, where did you get it from!?
  7. Pretty sure the pins are obsolete, and most will be in a pretty sorry state by now. Good luck on your search though!
  8. Good effort! Nice to see things being done properly! :thumbleft:
  9. As long as your cooling system is in good order, I honestly don't see the need. Mine has never gone above 116 degrees, and that was blasting down Bruntingthorpe runway endlessly at 143 mph! I've changed my rad, heater matrix, water pump and stat, and stock oil cooler/heat exchanger though, so I know mine is healthy. Putting an oil cooler in place may just mask a problem, so I'd suggest ensuring your cooling system is in tip top condition first. :thumbleft:
  10. Not much room on the bulkhead as it as. Why clutter it up even more?......
  11. Get a members gallery going now, warts and all! It'll give you a good history of how your car has come along. Don't be embarrassed by it, have a look at page 1 on my gallery!!!! It won't be looked down on, folk aren't like that on here. We're happy that you're saving another car rather than it going to the big scrapyard in the sky. Gives others a little motivations sometimes too, to start getting theirs on the up when they see others making good progress. :thumbleft:
  12. I've not seen the vid but did mine like others have mentioned. I managed to get one off really easily and sold it on as it was in pretty good order. The other bent like buggery so had to bin it. I did them both with the windows wound down Rob. Neither side clears the window completely of mist when I wind them down in the morning, but does help a little.

    Missfire

The carb cleaner rarely works in my experience on the isv. Worth getting it checked on VCDS if you can. Thats a strange one with the temp then. I can't see how adding antifreeze to the system would do anything like that tbh, its probably just coincidence. The fans should be kicking in at around 98 degrees iirc, and they're pretty affective in bringing temp back down to around 90 where it should be. Unless you've got a bit of an airlock which is causing it to go higher, so maybe try bleeding the system.

Sounds like separate issues, with the idle problem likely to be the Isv, and the temp problem likely thermostat. If temp goes up when stationary, then drops down to around 70-80 when travelling at speed it's most likely thermostat.
  15. I heard you...... I'm stalking you........ I can smell your clutch.........
  16. I so need a ride in a VRT. I've never had the opportunity and I'd love to see what they're like. I'm not a million miles from "finishing what I set out to do in mine, but this may lead to a new plan........ Hopefully.
  17. http://etka.cc/vw/part_single/catalog/vw/markt/RDW/modell/COR/year/1995/drive_standart/76/hg_ug/803/subcategory/135010/part_id/3688601/lang/e No longer available, and aparently for RHD cars with airbags...............
  18. I don't think all were fitted with them for some reason Ian. I remember Goldie mentioning he'd picked one up as his didn't have one.
  19. Anyone got a link to the page, I'm not very good with the social media mumbo jumbo and can't find it on Facebook.....
  20. Put a Corrado appreciation post on there and see how many likes you get chuggs, write a little ditty how you think VW are treating it like tieback sheep and start a petition for more acknowledgement of such a fine car, and how they should start reproducing some obsolete parts! :thumbleft:
  21. I found my pickup cracked after the PO had run stupidly low. Although I had no pressure issue, I'd definitely recommend inspection of it.
  22. Me too. N/S outer boot is a little oversized so leaks out a little but it's manageable, other than that they're perfect temporarily. The O/S doesn't have the girth of the original so I'd be a tad gentle, but worth it short term until you get your original sorted which is my intention Matt.
