  1. Had a quick hour on the car earlier. I'd wanted to swap my VT Gearbox mount back to standard for a while. Thought it was transmitting a bit of noise through to the cabin, but after looking at it, I'm not sure. The rubber has come away from the central metal shaft. Makes sense really, as when it was on the RR at Stealth last year I thought the engine was moving more than expected, and it was also an advisory on the MOT last year in being loose but secure. Wasn't an advisory this year though........ Oh well, just means I can't flog it on. Oh, and ordered a replacement crack pipe plug with seal, and rear brake bias valve spring from VW. Collecting them Wednesday.
  2. Is it this one you need? https://www.vwheritage.com/shop/corrado/533941141/headlight-adjusting-screw-mk2-scirocco-genuine-vw/?crumbStartPage=1&crumbStartRow=1
  3. Yeah someone else bought one at around the same time and that was faulty too Jon. Problem is, they're obsolete now! I've still got the old one so I may be able to try that, but shorting the plug that attaches to the back of the expansion tank made no difference so not 100% it is that.
  4. Thanks Daren. I'm gonna phone VW tomorrow as I want a couple of other bits anyway but if I get no luck, I'll give you a bell. Thanks for the offer mate, much appreciated! :thumbleft:
  5. Had a small water leak for the last few weeks, and couldn't see where it was coming from with everything in place. I suspected it was coming from the rad fan switch, but all I could see were small drips coming from the bottom rad hose. Had to tear the front end down to be able to see it properly though. True enough, it was coming from the switch and it was actually pretty loose. A good half turn was all I could manage but its sealed nicely now. I found another leak as well coming from the drain plug on the crack pipe. I managed to get about half a turn on that too, but its still weeping very slightly so I'll see if I can get another plug and seal for that, as I don't fancy replacing the whole thing if I can help it! My water level light keeps flashing when the car gets up to temp too, even though the level is good. I originally thought it was the new expansion tank that was faulty, but I shorted the sender plug and its still the same. I saw a thread on Vortex that suggests its most likely a dry solder joint on the binnicle, and I've got a spare one so I'll try that tomorrow so if it cures it I'll re-solder it all. The eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed the bonnet foam too. I finally go around to fitting it the other day. Closer pic. Bonnet catch is removed as its very sticky, but I have another with a set of pins which I'm gonna ask Ian (GloucesterOx) if he can re-plate them next week. I swapped out the boot popper too as the original was scuffed, and it didn't work with the key. New one in and lock re-tumbled and all is good. Noticed that the central locking isn't working when opening from the passenger side though, so I'll have to have a look at that next week. I bought a grey parcel shelf from ebay for £16 delivered which I thought was a bit of a bargain which arrived today. I wasn't sure whether to dye it or re-cover it originally, but there are some fag burns in it which has obviously meant I'll have to opt for re-covering. Gonna go on the hunt for a bit of carpet/fabric for that next week too, although I do have some acoustic fabric in very light grey in the shed so I may attempt to fit that first and see how it turns out. From this. To the uncut version. Still having to use the car for work which I'm really not happy about, as I've noticed a very slight crease on my drivers quarter where someone has obviously opened their door onto it. :mad2: You can only see it with the sun reflecting off of it from a certain angle, but I know its there and its p i s s e d me off no end! Got a couple of stone chips on the front end too but I suppose thats inevitable. Hey ho, hopefully it won't be for much longer.
  6. I'm sure it used to....... You've got me wondering now!
  7. Washed the car then finally got round to fitting the bonnet foam I've also had for about 18 months! I also fitted the replacement boot popper (again that I've had for about 18 months) which doesn't have a scuff to the paint on the edge, and original didn't work with the key anyway, so re-tumbled the lock and works perfectly now. Also realised that when opening with the key from the passenger side, it doesn't activate the central locking. 2 steps forward..........
  8. Another whilst working on the drive, a elder Lady came over and asked me how long I'd owned it, said it was beautiful and that they'd had one a few years back, it was so advanced for the time. Got me thinking about how memories of good times past with cars really stick in your memory for years and years. Made me reminisce of when I was a youngster and going to Ashton Court in my Dads Capri and Opel Manta. What a great couple of cars they were and I'd love to own either one.
  9. I love the bit where he says the Sunroof "does divide opinion" 1/1 = 1, it's a bloody train wreck!!!!
  10. Looks cracking! Yours didn't seem overly bad to begin with tbh. You should have seen the state of mine! Got a massive sense of achievement when it was finished. :thumbleft:
  11. I know prices are on the up, but think the seller is being just a tad optimistic!.................... Pics 10-12. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1993-VOLKSWAGEN-CORRADO-VR6-GREY-not-vw-golf-mk2-mk3-gti-track-/182064943020?hash=item2a63ea8fac:g:0O4AAOSwzvlW8xrk
  12. Dont see why not mate. I'd say be gentle with wiping it on though, and be sure to allow each coat to dry fully as it may clump up otherwise.
  13. 120 Amp were standard for cars with A/C, and a worthwhile upgrade.
  14. Mine came in a kit with a mini air gun which you attached to compressed air tins. Gave a nice even finish without any drips.
  15. Good idea for the heater box bowden cables too! I think I'll get me one of them!
  16. Google Partsbase and bookmark it. You get exploded diagrams and all the part numbers from there.
  17. Just a little. I think Hella might be a little upset, especially if there was a fault with them.
  18. Were the rollers/bushes included with the spring, or did you have to order them separately?
  19. Ooh, where did you get the spring from? I got my bias valve last week in preparation for the underside refurb, but I thought the springs were unavailable anywhere!
  20. I know seanJaymo also cut his Bumpstops down by about 25mm too, so that could be why it went so low if it was sitting on them. I didn't bother as I wanted to retain some sort of comfort over looks. Not sure if they sit on them when static though?....
  21. Saw that last night, it did make me laugh!
  22. I thought you'd maybe break this one considering what you paid. Well done for saving it though, if you can see potential in it as either a bit of a hack or a money maker, it's always good to know there will be another one saved from the giant scrap heap in the sky! What are your plans?
