  1. Another whilst working on the drive, a elder Lady came over and asked me how long I'd owned it, said it was beautiful and that they'd had one a few years back, it was so advanced for the time. Got me thinking about how memories of good times past with cars really stick in your memory for years and years. Made me reminisce of when I was a youngster and going to Ashton Court in my Dads Capri and Opel Manta. What a great couple of cars they were and I'd love to own either one.
  2. I love the bit where he says the Sunroof "does divide opinion" 1/1 = 1, it's a bloody train wreck!!!!
  3. Looks cracking! Yours didn't seem overly bad to begin with tbh. You should have seen the state of mine! Got a massive sense of achievement when it was finished. :thumbleft:
  4. I know prices are on the up, but think the seller is being just a tad optimistic!.................... Pics 10-12. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1993-VOLKSWAGEN-CORRADO-VR6-GREY-not-vw-golf-mk2-mk3-gti-track-/182064943020?hash=item2a63ea8fac:g:0O4AAOSwzvlW8xrk
  5. Dont see why not mate. I'd say be gentle with wiping it on though, and be sure to allow each coat to dry fully as it may clump up otherwise.
  6. 120 Amp were standard for cars with A/C, and a worthwhile upgrade.
  7. Mine came in a kit with a mini air gun which you attached to compressed air tins. Gave a nice even finish without any drips.
  8. Good idea for the heater box bowden cables too! I think I'll get me one of them!
  9. Google Partsbase and bookmark it. You get exploded diagrams and all the part numbers from there.
  10. Just a little. I think Hella might be a little upset, especially if there was a fault with them.
  11. Were the rollers/bushes included with the spring, or did you have to order them separately?
  12. Ooh, where did you get the spring from? I got my bias valve last week in preparation for the underside refurb, but I thought the springs were unavailable anywhere!
  13. I know seanJaymo also cut his Bumpstops down by about 25mm too, so that could be why it went so low if it was sitting on them. I didn't bother as I wanted to retain some sort of comfort over looks. Not sure if they sit on them when static though?....
  14. Saw that last night, it did make me laugh!
  15. I thought you'd maybe break this one considering what you paid. Well done for saving it though, if you can see potential in it as either a bit of a hack or a money maker, it's always good to know there will be another one saved from the giant scrap heap in the sky! What are your plans?
  16. How much are they direct from Classic parts though, as thats where Heritage get their supply from. Maybe the price is dictated by them...........
  17. Wow, that was quick considering how much it was listed for! I don't doubt that at least a couple of grand was knocked off it, but that's still a huge price! Just goes to show there are people out there willing to pay top prices for the right car!
  18. A very, very understanding missus!
  19. SeanJaymos dropped to 295mm from centre Hub to bottom of arch when it settled. If you have a look on his members gallery the new buyer posted a pic of them side by side. They have different markings on them but not sure if that's definitive, as I have the same markings on mine as his originals, and I haven't suffered that problem. Mine sit 330mm at the back.
  20. Change the 109 relay, it'll rule it out for very little outlay. The fundamentals need to be checked first though. Drain and renew fuel with fresh as suggested. Then check to see if you're getting fuel to the cylinders by removing the plugs after cranking, and you should smell fuel and see the spark plugs are wet. If that all looks good, are you getting spark? with the plugs removed, earth the threaded part of the plug on the block, and turn the car over. Do this at each plug. If you're getting a strong spark, its probably an electrical problem. If not, work your way back with leads, coilpack, or ECU. Its a process of elimination in some cases unfortunately, as the primitive On Board Diagnostics don't give a whole lot of options in some cases. Where are you based? I'm sure someone local would be willing to give you a hand if you ask nicely, and they may even have vagcom to scan it if you don't.
  21. Welcome to the forum! Have a look in the wiki section for the buyers guide, a really good source of information on what to look out for, and check out the sellers threads for whose offering up what. The usual eBay and autoloader as well as there may be some hidden gems to be had Where are you based and what's your budget?
  22. Jon, yeah you can powdercoat them, but they're just plain metal straps without the curvature in the middle of the stock ones. If you go down this route it just seems a little pointless by not getting your original ones done unless they are too far gone. Rob, sorry mate, no I'm not honestly! I did think about getting some myself, but they're quite visible and obvious when approaching from the rear, so I personally wanted it to remain a little more stock looking. :thumbleft:
  23. There are a few that do stainless tank straps and they're quite well priced if thats the kind of thing you want (A little bling for me tbh). Unless the ones you can get look identical to the originals, I doubt there would be much interest to be honest mate.
