I'll bear that in mind, but it's not really my style...! 8) Just out of interest, did you fit yours into the cigarette lighter housing?

After reading all the threads on the subject, I'm actually fairly sure that my problem is down to the ignition switch, but I just wanted to double-check before scooting off to GSF tomorrow, as there are a couple of anomalies that I'm a little concerned about... Since Saturday my car has not been starting - turn the key to the "start" position and you get a couple of clicks behind the dash and in the engine bay, though not from the starter solenoid. I assumed it was the starter til I managed to get the starter to turn over today by hotwiring the solenoid directly to the battery. However, when measuring the voltage of the ignition feed to the solenoid when turning the key to the "start" position, it reads just over 5V for a couple of seconds then drops to 0V, with the key still fully turned. If the ignition switch was knackered, I'd have been expecting to not get any volts there at all, right? Also, when I bought the car, the seller fitted a new switch as it had been suffering from dead-switch-syndrome, and I know it was definitely changed because I popped round whilst he was doing it! Any advice most welcome, just so I don't unnecessarily spend money on an ignition switch I don't need! Cheers guys! BTW, I have a meter with me, so can happily check voltages and the like...

Camskill have got a few good deals on 205/50R15s, and they're free delivery... :)
-
Cheers guys, I'm currently just bandying ideas about in my head at the mo so all the advice is much appreciated! Just suddenly started hankering after a bit more power and figuring out the cheapest way to do it - G60 transplant looks cheaper than charging the 2E engine... :)
-
Cheers - I did have a look but couldn't see exactly where it all fitted! Though if I keep all the heater matrix etc behind the dash then the controls'll still be ok...? Biggest problem would be where to fit the intercooler as I have a big rad and the aircon condensor filling the front already!
-
Like the title says, anyone with a G60 with aircon got any pics of the engine bay? I've been told that the G60 engine and loom will drop into my Passat, but I don't want to lose the aircon system (once I've got it working ) From looking at my engine, the a/c pump seems to be exactly where the charger is on a G60 so was wondering how G60s with a/c fit it all in! No that I have the money to do it at the mo, just wanted to know if I can rule it out completely or not! Cheers! :D

Would any of these be what you're after? 8)

According to their website of 2004, Dubmeister do both 5x100 and 4x100 to 5x130 adaptors... I know some of the guys on here have reservations about hub adaptors though!

I'm going through wheel dilemmas at the mo concerning my Borbets - what you have to remember is that the only opinion that matters is your own! 8)
-
Wheel taste is such a personal thing - plus you can never be sure until you see 'em on a car! 5-spokes do seem to siut the 'rado well though, so they'd probably look ok... If I was any good at 'chopping I'd do it for you! ;)
-
From what I can find, the PCD seems to be 5x130 which is the standard Porsche fitment IIRC... You can get 5x100 to 5x130 adaptors, not sure about 4x100 to 5x130...

G-Lader, loving the rims mate! Old skool all the way... 8)

http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk/ I have used these guys before when re-wring the injector connectors for my Cit - they're very quick delivery and stock lots of useful bits that I couldn't find elsewhere... 8)

Looking very shiny there Neil! Definitely does need that lowering kit on it though... ;) 8) Have a look at the photo shoot that Phil K did for myself and hAAk - should give you some ideas for angles to photograph from! Early evening light is really flattering, and business parks and industrial estates are always good locations IMO...
-
Stop calling it a bl**dy Pissrat! heheh... Cheers for the shoot though - it's a testament to your camera skills that you've made a 13yr-old saloon look good!

Errrrrr.... Al, you may have to check that, cos I can't see 'em!

I'm actually trying to go Euro-look with her, and I reckon the black centres are a bit too "Cal", but I still like em! 8) Got some flat centre caps on the way from Germany, so am thinking of reverting to the original silver with a polished rim as it'll be more Euro... What say thee? -

Well, I took gradeA out today because Phil K said we should get some pictures now that I'm wearing my lovely 17" Borbet A wheels - I'm not too sure about the black though, what do you all think? Hope you like the picture everyone! Sen  -
Welcome to the forum - it's by far the best one i've been a part of , so I'm sure you'll feel like a regular in no time! :)

So it's possible to do a 2L G60 conversion on the 2E engine...? Hmmm, interesting... Would I have to ditch the aircon though, as I reckon the compressor's not far from where the charger would sit? :(
-
Haha, I have fond memories of driving to college in my mate's MG Metro with Dreamscape XII blasting out of twin 12" subs in the boot!
-
well, i think yrs is the 2E engine, same as mine? Someone correct me if i'm wrong...! with the mods done to mine it certainly has a decent bit of grunt - it was RR'd with 101.9BHP at the wheels and just a little over 105lbF-ft of torque so i'm definitely liking the way an 8V feels, but yeah, getting hankering for more power... 8) Have seen 8V turbo kits in the States going for about $1000 new (£500!), which if i had the money would certainly be being considered!
