Drill the rubber out so the centre falls out, then saw cut through the outer shell so it folds out. Simples!!

I would paint them silver or black personally.

Congrats on the win! Car looks superb. You could try gliptone on the bolsters, they colour match the leather and it just colours in the marks. Seen really good results with it.

Looking good Matt, shame I missed your call the other day. Next time your out in it, give me a shout. Brakes look enormous too.

I think we can all take note of what you say Wendy, I sometimes wished Id changed career completely but have had a wife and family to support so its not been possible. For the Oil/Gas industry its not too lucrative in the UK at the moment, this is the industry I've been in for the past 16 years and the last 2 to 3 have been horrendous. Its showing signs of improvement but will still be quiet for the next 12 months or so. At the moment, the work is currently in Kazakhstan. Hope all goes well for you Mic.

Did you paint the whole car? Any better pictures of the finish you had? There doesn't look to be any orange peel at all

The paintwork looks so good on this picture, how did you get it so shiney? Was it re-sprayed? It was for sale a bit back, did it sell and does it still look as good?

I like the nothelles, are they 16" because they look quite small in comparison to Goldies

Looking good Sean, recommend thinners on unpainted areas and turps on the bits underneath that have paint. I'm really interested to know what the VW stonechip is like and if it's the same as the thick rubbery stuff already on the corrado.

Got the rear panel finished and looks nice and flat from the reflection in the wet primer Onto the doors, drivers door was the worst with a large crease at the front, plan is to go back to bare metal then have a dent remover come and get as much out as possible crease can be seen here back to bare metal dent remover managed to get it all pretty much out leaving just a light skim of filler and primed, seems pretty flat Bonnet now to take back to bare metal then I should be ready for high build primer. I'm going to try a polyester primer which is supposed to be really thick (like spraying filler apparently). Then its more blocking work......... and dust...........

I always thought paint jobs were over priced until I started the mk1! You could do the prep work yourself but factor in about 12 months and loads and loads of dust and mess.......

Holy crap! Those close up pics are shocking. There's no way that car has been in a carcoon all its life and then in a heated garage, unless the carcoon was right near the sea and had no top on it

Engine bay looks scabby for the mileage, also missing a cap off the windscreen wiper. The other one is really discoloured so guess it's not been stored in a garage.
