  1. Great photo! Wonder if its still possible to have a meet there or has it been demolished now?
  2. Would air con pipework etc be a problem in the bay?

  4. I don't think I'll be running that one past the long haired general unless I can convince her a Turbo is a actually a cheap fix and a long term investment that will save us money  However, a seed has been planted. Will look forward to seeing some pics of the layout.
  5. Don't suppose by any chance you've still got these? Vaughan
  6. I need to do 2 of these so this guide looks as if it might do the trick How many tumblers are there in each barrel - 8?? Has anybody got any spares hanging around? Looking for - roughly - as I'm not sure I've put together all the broken bits correctly: 6 threes 8 twos 2 fours 4 ones (or at least I think they are ones as they have no number on) 4 tumbler springs And possibly one door barrel or a drivers side handle including a barrel Before I head for the stealers or ebay let me know what ya got and what ya want Cheers Vaughan
  7. Cleaned it, removed the door handle, did some metalwork on the door, removed the doorcard, reset the Daves 16v metal striker, removed and repaired the steering wheel plastic cowling, charged the battery, hot wired it 8)
  8. This might seem a little weird, but in my previous post created a number of weeks back I had a joke calender with my car showing in the garage for new tyres last Saturday 23rd Jan. By sheer con-incidence (but this is weirding me out a little) my car did actually pay an emergency visit to the garage last Saturday to check out a misfire (fixed - bad wiring connection as it turned out). Eeek! I'm wondering if I should take a guess at when it will go in during February now! Perhaps I should organise a sweepstake, LOL John People will pay good money for skills like these John :) - Can you have a look at what might happen on July 11th? Cross ya hand with silver
  9. Its a shame the Wi-Fi device is $150  Anybody know if you can get a cheaper alternative?
  10. Ah thanks Ian, so I'd be non standard then  I think I'll get some anyway as the neaten things up a lot. Wonder why they dropped em?
  11. Very tidy mate 8) Gonna have to get a battery cover I reckon - I know you said it was VW but is there just one size fits all? That a new expansion tank too? And the plastic suspension strut caps too, Might have to start a wanted thread soon  Where did you get the bodywork quote from - Colortech?
  12. Looking good Shaun. Like the all red rears a lot. Are you gonna smooth the roof? How low ya goin - must have smooth roads over there
  13. Congrats and enjoy. Look forward to seeing a few more pics :) Second best colour for a Storm
  14. Really sorry to hear that mate :( Hope it gets fixed soon. I'm guessing no witnesses?
  15. Yes but you still have the asset which may well have appreciated in value. Another way of looking at it is what would it cost you to borrow £30K or what interest could you get on £30K of your savings? less than the £2700 income/yr you might be getting (c9%) although it might be hard to get £75/month from 3 punters each and every month.
  16. To be honest if you have doubts and are really set on getting a Storm them a call to VW Customer Services with the chassis number will resolve it once and for all. Agree with coullstar on there probably being better cars out there right now but good luck with whatever you decide. Other clues are it should have a colour coded grill, heated front seats and a Storm badge on the gearstick surround. It would also have come with BBS Solitudes on but they could have legitimately been changed along the way.
  17. That's too much in one day! Give her a rest  Good number though - what ya got planned for the big 90?
  18. Standard suspension or a little bit stiffer :norty:
  19. These are great  I want one of these to protect my Storm badge investment.... http://www.bmweducation.co.uk/coFacts/linkDocs/bmwMarqueWiper.asp
  20. Didn't know that Jim. I count myself lucky to have it then! Although it does need regular re-gassing  Mind you since fitting the BMC I tend to have the window wound down anyway
  21. Keep it! It may be a devil at times but its the one that by now you really know (and probably love?). Besides which the really, really big cost of ownership is long gone - namely depreciation. Buy something newish for 5 grand and you'll probably lose a grand in the first year of ownership - in 5 years time you'll probably have lost £3500 and even newish cars can have things go wrong with them. How much are you gonna spend on keeping the rado going in 5 years? If you don't do mega miles and don't need 100% reliability then I think you have no choice but to keep it  Target 25 years ownership
  22. Long haired general spottage - M656 RJ* - Green, Park Row, Bristol, 3.05pm
  23. That's bad luck Kip and very sad - no fault on your part though and as you say hard to understand why the owner didn't have it under control. Our black lab which we've had a week now is rather skittish around traffic and I'd never willingly let her off the lead.
