The plunger thing - might be worth cleaning and maybe replaceing gasket but new ones are £loads...
-
Could be soggy engine mounts... Try this first tho - blast the shifter area on top of the gearbox with WD40 to clean it, then grab a handful of CL grease in a glove and 'work' it into the shifter assembly - It might not make an immediate difference but over a few miles it might start to loosen up nicely!

VR6 Clutch replace advice *price/experience/where? please*
Supercharged replied to mariojoshi's topic in Drivetrain
Mate - I'm 3 hours away but it's still the closest garage to me that I actually trust! -
With the MK4's you need to now press the brake pedal a good few times with the handbrake cables unhooked, then bleed (with car on ground / bias valve open) then connect handbrake cables... They will still probably feel a bit vague until the pads have beeded in but should get better after a couple of hundred miles...

VR6 Clutch replace advice *price/experience/where? please*

Have a look at the WiKi guide for the timing chains to see what involved... Your not far at all from Stealth - I would travel there for the specialist knowledge they have, probably pay less than a london garage anyway! -
Do you mean the hub diametre? if so it's 57.1, standard VW but the place selling the adapters should know this!!! H&R are probably the best ones to use - make sure they give you the correct seat wheel bolts for your alloys!

Rear brake parts get expensive i'm afraid - I know becuase i did both my cars this year! Pads, Discs, ABS rings and bearings come to about £150 at dealer rrp inc vat, add new bolts and spash sheilds maybe...£175 Calipers - may as well use MK4 ones with the Goodridge conversion hoses - another £175... In theory all new parts make the job easier but still probably 2-3 hours labour with bleeding so anything less than £500 would be a good price...

Welcome to the forum, VW changed them in 94 i think - you just need to order the other type...

Best place to buy a VR Lambda sensor?
Supercharged replied to Son_of_Thor's topic in Suppliers Forum
Yeah, Bosch fuel injection centre or VW dealer... not much in it price wise on the VR -
They are the cheaper boxed ones but complete leads - quantum branded but better tham they used to be! 905QHT042 is the KR part number (£26+vat) - not sure it's the same for a 9a tho...
-
The cheaper VW ones (in a pack) are about £30 now for a valver...

Either Genuine VAG, Bosch Silicone (Halfords), Beru (VWspares), BBM (from the states) or Blue Ignitors (C&R)

VR6 Water leak left side nr sbelt PUMP FAILED AGAIN & AGAIN!
Supercharged replied to was8v's topic in Engine Bay
As Toad says thats how they are designed - to fail safe (ish) ECP sell some absolute rubbish - the VW part might actually be cheaper, I think I paid £19 + vat (trade) for a VR one last year and if that fails within 2 years (it won't), VW will change the part AND take care of the labour even if they didn't fit it! -
I'd do a few checks first mate like whether all the sensors have continuity and that the ABS ECU isn't full of water...
-
Yeah, think it's more likely something is not quite right with the starter rebuild or maybe the solenoid not throwing out properly...?
-
VW hose is 8mm ID, make sure you use the proper constant tension clips - not jubilee's!

HELP needed asap! headlight switch UPDATE 4: Fixed!!!
Supercharged replied to Jim Bowen's topic in Interior
Good man - glad you got it sorted and even better when your not paying someone else to do it! -
ABS ECU is in the passenger kick panel in front of the door... I would check the existing one for water damage but I would say if the pedal sank to the floor before the problem must have been hydraulic regardless of ABS - if there is another issue with the ABS you need VAGCOM... Edit - I'm sure you need VAGCOM anyway if changing the MC as this will involve bleeding the ABS unit...
-
Thats just the directional flap for the heater I think...
-
Yeah, it's on the high side... VAG discs and pads are about £100 over here plus 1 hours labour for a garage...
-
Yep, there is a link to this on the homepage of the CCGB site.

Yeah you need the die really out of the VW kit... even if you've not got the other bits then you can use a bearing puller in reverse to push them in... getting them in at the right angle is also critical for the track correction!

There is a bracket coming off the metal water pipe on the G60 engine that runs close to the oil filter / engine mount... I can't see what it attaches too or does it slot into the front engine mount bracket??? TIA

Corrado Lambda Sensors - Bosch Part Numbers
Supercharged replied to ProdigalSon's topic in Engine Bay
Dudes... The VR6 info is below VAG - 021-906-265A Bosch - 0 258 003 267/268 VR6 Part is also for the 2.0 8V's (ADY / 2E engines codes) also. The 2.0 16V (9A) probe is the same as the G60 and the 1.8 16V (KR) has no cat so therefore no probe Both the above have a square plug - 4 wire (grey, black and 2 white) New Probes come with an anti seize grease and a heat sleeve that needs to be moved up to the probe itself after being installed, 22mm spanner needed to fit with a cable tie holding the loom to a bracket just above the subframe. Plug connects to engine loom at bracket ontop of rear engine mount and on the G60 / 9A probe this bracket also provides an earth which is critical to the engine management, The VR6 part earths thru the loom back to the ECU (I assume) - deffo worth checking all engine mounts are in good condition when fitting a new part as VW give little slack on the cables to allow for movement (altho it's usually the ECU loom side that breaks and you need to either use repair wires or get a new plug from VW - £7ish) -
