How much did you buy for ?
-
How did the aux belt failure cause this , if overheated couldn't they of just pulled over ?
-
Jesus that is armageddon in there. What is the plan of action ?
-
Hmmm I like the colour and the mileage. As it reads original owner then someone purchased and gave it a spray job and few other bits and selling after a year. This is certainly not from an owner that has spent a fortune on the car, could be the spray job is not great if been done on the cheap. If I was going to spend good money on a Rado I would be looking for a car seller with OCD that had spent a fortune with a pile of recent receipts, I think this car will still mostly have the issues of a 25 year old car that has not had much money spent on it.

Has good potential by all accounts.

The chains were done about 5000 miles ago by the last owner and have the receipts etc. Unfortunately my car started drinking oil and also smoking out of the exhaust intermittently mainly on idle after driving, could just be a case of bad valve seals letting the oil pass through then burning off. After consulting Vince he advised me to go the full hog which will be. Honed bores machined 3 litres(He does not like relinning cylinders as he said the VR block does not take to that well) New pistons to match the larger 3.0 CC (each bore measured to each piston exact) New timing chain and guides Top of head skimmed and gasket etc Tappets and seals Also various other things whilst in there that I'm not sure of yet that will be getting changed. Schrick taken off and polished. Basically a full bottom and top end rebuild Should pull like a train when complete with a 3.0 litre engine and Schrick. Tempted to get some Schrick cams as well.

How much are they now ? Thanks -
Maybe it was a bit of a company car at some point and did a lot of mileage on the salted motorways in the winter.
-
Not at the moment mate got an engine rebuild booked in March - however I will keep on eye on it and if it comes to around £300 I will go for it. Cant see it not looking correct.
-
Was this car based on the coast , that is some serious rust.
-
Trying to ignore this the best I can.

These leather OE gear knobs have been obsolete for some time I believe. I have ordered one off this seller - looks like new old stock. Ill give an update if the goods/ transaction/ delivery was as advertised. http://www.sparesdeals.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=84_86&product_id=290

Yes you need four, diagram link above shows it if you click on it. The seal is the same for each light and has the same part number , however it informs you to cut two to size as the rear lights come in the form of a curved corner and the square one next to each other therefore have a different perimeter, so treat it like four light units that each need a seal and two will need cutting to size. Probably worth getting some of these as spares but I'm not in the mood to be spending after forking out on some roof moldings !

Yes mate you need four and cut a couple to size- on the part diagram it says sizes. T4 tailgate cut down to size also fits the boot opening an absolute treat. The corrado boot opening seal is obsolete and was a rip off. Here is a new T4 boot opening seal for comparison fitted to my car- If you ever wanted proof that VW load a Part number starting with 535. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-T4-TRANSPORTER-TAILGATE-AND-BARN-DOOR-SEAL-T4-REAR-DOOR-SEAL-FIT-ALL-MODELS/324090193145?hash=item4b7547e4f9:g:kn8AAOSwIKNb6t9i

Are you after these mate ? Might be worth checking your blue rear decal grommets are not letting water as well. https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/3A5945191-rear-light-gasket.html http://www.oemepc.com/vw/part_single/catalog/vw/markt/RDW/modell/COR/year/1995/drive_standart/76/hg_ug/945/subcategory/223000/part_id/0/lang/e

To true with bolts and nuts. if sourced from a manufacturer directly are not expensive a at all and the UK has so many capable companies that can manufacture . I am personally guilty of spending silly money for fittings and it is just a waste of money but the only catch is you have to find someone to supply them. If we all has bit more time I'm pretty sure we could get everything manufactured over here as we have some of greatest companies in the world to be fair, also man with a shed traders in the back garden is almost a UK trademark, amazing what folks in the know can produce. I can source 50 10 mm self tapping bolts for my trade and they cost about £20.-- for a box, vag would cost just silly for that amount. Talking about silly money I've had to fork out 313 for two roof moldings as they were flapping in the wind and when I inspected and pulled them up a little the sides just fell apart , I suppose one should just be glad that they are available and remind oneself how rare and what a cult special car the Corrado is. and also the great owners that keep them on the road. I've owned a fair few cars in the past but the Corrado from my experience even relatively new to most on here/ there is something very special about the Rado that I can't quite put my finger on. but nonetheless a great mongrel that the VW engineers absolutely pulled off. designed a car that could actually compete with its competitors.. very brave step to compete with BMW, Mercedes , Porsche, but thank god there was a small amount of purchases that didn't want to follow the rest, and that is why I think the Corrado is such a special car , it \was never really a coupe luxury car in my opinion compared to owning other coupe cars of that era.. but that of of the king of the hot hatches which was also a great place to be in accompanied by a rising spoiler. what more could you ask for !

I'm the same can't stand putting old bolts on new parts ! Here is your first bolt from Germany N90184501 . See if the seller has the other items. Good seller have used before. Noit cheap postage but if you can get a good order together not to bad. https://www.ebay.fr/itm/Sechskantbundschraube-M8X75X33-fur-Lenkgetriebe-Golf-2-Co-OE-Ref-N90184501/352953413377?hash=item522da9af01:g:XrMAAOSwsnVeMquE
